"The Bourbon Pointu" is a coffee variety obtained with a mutation of Arabia coffee in Reunion, named "mutation laurina". In XVIII century , coffee Bourbon Pointu was cultivated in Reunion. The coffee Bourbon Pointu culture was boosted recently. This coffee distinguishes itself by a good acidity, a low bitterness and a low rate of cafeine. Its export in Japan from 2000 years. In 2007, the Specialty Coffee Association of Japan has give Bourbon pointu the premium coffee distinction.
